Hibernia Campground, Kerr Lake Reservoir

One of our Favorite Camprounds

Brief Synopsis of our trip

We left for Hibernia in the late afternoon of July 1st. We arrived about 4:30 PM and set up camp. We really liked the site, very wide and spacious. Not only that, but we were completely under canopy and the ground was fairly level.

For most of the evening, we just sat around the campsite and enjoyed each other's company and caught up on some reading.

After a Mexican flavored breakfast, we walked down to the lake and then the camp circle.

After lounging around, we drove into Henderson, NC and shopped some stores downtown. We really liked Betty B's store, very friendly staff and a place to sit and rest your feet.

That evening, we just enjoyed the fire and making s'mores.

Sunday morning we had our standard pancake breakfast. Afterwards, we attended worship service at Calvary Baptist Church in Henderson, NC. After service, we ate lunch at my wife's favorite place, Cracker Barrell.

After lunch, we spent the afternoon shopping in several stores located in a shopping strip. A WalMart, Dollar Tree, Burkes Outlet, Belks and Bath and Bodyworks. My beautiful wife was in shopping heaven. We returned to camp and both of us had a brief nap.

We walked down to the lake again late in the evening, to watch the sun set. It was a beautiful site.

The next morning we were up early and walked down to the lake again to watch the sunrise.

I did a little fishing while the wife just enjoyed the scenes.

By lunchtime, we were packed up and ready to go home. We really enjoyed our stay at Hibernia, it was a very relaxing trip.
